The Academy will have places for 1160 students. High quality design and first class facilities will be key features of the new Academy buildings.
Modern academies are light, airy and spacious. They can also be futuristic, but their main function are to be an inspirational places to learn. They have the facilities and resources to educate, engage and motivate 21st century students to achieve to the best of their ability.
Like the other academies already constructed under the Building Schools for the Future programme, Bolton St Catherine’s Academy will have state of the art buildings by the 2011/12 academic year.
Firwood School will be co-located on the same site as the new Academy. This will enable greater levels of integration to benefit all students.
